Battle Medieval Fayre this year is on Sunday 27th and Monday 28th May from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm on both days. There will be displays by the Fighting Knights, Battle Merry Maypolers, a medieval barber surgeon, medieval minstrels and our resident Jester, Devil Sticks Peat. B&L School Maypole Team will be there on Monday at 2.00 pm after a Parade through the Fayre. There will be the opportunity to try out weapons and armour from the period, games for the children (With an Elizabethan coconut shy snuck in) and many traders’ stalls to visit. There is a BBQ, beer and cider stalls for your refreshment, or visit one of the many pubs, cafes and restaurants in the town.
Why not take the opportunity to browse the shops on Battle High Street, Market square and the courts to snap up a bargain or two? There’s also a competition to find “Harold’s eyes” in the windows of 8 shops across the town. Winner receives a voucher for a meal for four at the New Inn in Westfield.
