Battle Medieval Fayre offers stalls, games and entertainment throughout both days. The entertainment is a mix of juggling, jesting, and general tomfoolery. There will be talks by Hands on History and an opportunity to see and try on mediaeval amour and weaponry. Battle’s very own Knights of the Realm will be strutting their stuff with boo-ing and cheering to encourage them in their chivalrous endeavours. In addition 1066 Falconry will be there and 1066 Lacemakers will be demonstrating the delicate art of lacemaking. There will be potters offering an opportunity for young ones to try throwing a pot, and games and facepainting for the young.
Venue: Abbey Green, Battle High Street, TN33 0EN. Entry is Free. At 1pm on Monday the May Queen and her entourage (accompanied by the Section 5 Drummers) will process down Battle High Street. After the crowning of the May Queen at about 1.30 the children will demonstrate how maypoling should be done.

Battle medieval fayre is held on Battle Abbey Green situated just in front of Battle Abbey on Sunday 29th May through to Monday 30th May. The mediaeval Fayre has been held on every late May Bank Holiday since 1990!

The fayre runs from Sunday 29th May from 10am to 5pm to Monday 30th May from 10am to 5pm. You can find stalls selling local arts and crafts; from traditional pottery to lacework along with a number of activities and performances through out the day including Jovial Jugglers & Jesters, Merry Maypole Dancing, Fortune Teller's and much more. There is no entrance fee so come and join in, all the stall holders are in mediaeval dress, the event will take you right back in time.
